25.14.Prerequisites for Microsoft 365 archiving ↑ Back to Top
This section will help you set up your Microsoft 365 archiving (includes all archive models available online – SharePoint archive, Email archive, and Teams archive) and grant necessary permissions for the users (creates the connection between the contentACCESS and Microsoft 365).
For the Microsoft 365 archiving, the following prerequisites are required:
- Microsoft 365 login provider – a contentACCESS user may log into contentACCESS (and/or into the client application “contentACCESS Portal”) with the Microsoft 365 external authentication provider. To be able to log in with your Microsoft account, you need to register an application in the Azure portal first, then create the Microsoft 365 login provider in the Central Administration. Read more about the process in the Configure Microsoft 365 login provider section in the manual.
- Azure app registration – contentACCESS needs to use modern authentication to connect to Microsoft 365 Exchange Online. This requires an Azure App registration to be configured on the Microsoft 365 tenant. The procedure to create the App registration is described in this chapter.
If the Microsoft 365 login provider and the Azure App registration are set, you can configure the models which require the Microsoft 365 archiving:
- Email archive – read more about the configuration on the Email archive System settings page
- SharePoint archive – for more information refer to the SharePoint archive settings section
- Teams archive – for more information about how to configure the Teams archive, please refer to the Teams archive System settings page
